Wedding Planning Check List

The following ten point check look has been written to remind you of some of the items you need to consider when you choose to get married

– Find a venue for your wedding. Perhaps you already have a place in mind, or you may still be undecided on where to get married. Remember- many venues will book up way in advance, especially in summer months.

– Apply for your wedding licence and book the church or registrar. You'll be surprised to hear that in some locations registrars also get booked up, so you need to book in advance. It's worth checking this out before you commit money to a venue. Of course if you are planning a church wedding then the priest will marry you!

- Decide on a budget for your wedding and try to stick to it! You'll be surprised how easily costs can spiral out of control. At this point it is a good idea to start thinking about the number of guests that you want to invite and start drafting up a provisional guest list.

- Women will probably already be thinking about the dress that they want to wear on their wedding day- obviously this will need altering so this should be thought about fairly early on in proceedings. However- don't forget what the groom is going to wear and what about bridesmaids and the Best Man?

- Finding a good quality wedding photographer can be difficult, the trick is to look for a selection and peruse their portfolio. Personality counts- if you don't feel like you connect with the photographer in person then you won't be comfortable using them on your big day.

- Planning your menu can be a headache, however many of the more established wedding venues offer tasting evenings so you can try out the various options on offer. Picking a menu that will please everyone is almost impossible, but you can't go too far wrong with traditional wedding affair, the roast dinner main course. Don't forget the vegetarians though!

- Don't forget the honeymoon. When the wedding is over most brides and grooms look forward to unwinding and enjoying their honeymoon.

- Find a Wedding Cake- these can be surprisingly expensive, however if you are looking to save money then some high-street chains offer wedding cakes at a fraction of the costs of a dedicated wedding cake maker.

- Don't forget the florist- but again if you choose wisely you can save money here. However you may want the flowers and table displays to be one of the memorable things about your wedding. Again shop around, the choice is endless.

- Ensure you get your wedding invitations out in good time, it would be terrible if you delayed this and people who you really wanted to be at your wedding couldn't make it.
